Training for mental health professionals: supporting bereaved women
Dr. Mariana Velykodna, associate professor of psychology at Ukraine Sigmund Freud University, conducts a training for mental health professionals in Dnipropetrovs’k region on “Psychological support for women who suffered losses during the war.”
As part of the event, psychologists, social workers and psychotherapists have the opportunity to improve their skills in evidence-based approaches to dealing with normal and complicated grief. Considerable attention is paid to practical aspects that stem from the real-life experience of the training participants.
The training was initiated by the TAPS Charitable Foundation (Dnipro) and is aimed at improving the professional training of specialists working with traumatic experiences and losses in the war.
The mission of the Ukraine Sigmund Freud University is to shape a new generation of psychologists and psychotherapists and contribute to the restoration of the mental health of the Ukrainian nation.
