USFU became a participant of the international training program

The topic of the program is “Strengthening Ukraine’s capacity to manage trauma-related mental disorders”.

The training program was conducted at Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University with the support of NATO.

Dr. Mariana Velykodna, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, represented Ukraine Sigmund Freud University. She became one of the trainers of the program.

The program’s specialty is the study of reconsolidation therapy. The reconciliation method has been developed for almost 20 years and is an advanced method in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder, which is relevant today for providing psychological assistance to both military and civilian populations affected by military operations.

The training is conducted by the author of the method, Dr. Alain Brunet. He came to Ukraine from Australia to support Ukrainian psychologists, psychiatrists, and psychotherapists working with the consequences of the war.

Participation in the Ukraine Sigmund Freud University training program is an opportunity to learn from the progressive experience of world-renowned specialists in the fight against PTSD to strengthen the professional capacity of specialists providing psychological assistance in war.

The main task of Ukraine Sigmund Freud University is not only to teach its students professional skills, but also to form a modern worldview, teach them to analyze the challenges of today and draw up a vision of the future development of the individual, society and state. We are creating a new generation of psychologists and psychotherapists and strive to contribute to the restoration of the mental health of the Ukrainian nation.
