The first training was a seminar on “MENTAL TRAUMA. PTSD”

On October 14, 2023, the first training took place at the USFU – a seminar for colleagues, psychologists of the National Guard of Ukraine of the Northern Territorial Department.

We are very pleased that we have the opportunity to contribute to the restoration of the mental health of Ukrainians. And especially our Defenders. After all, our colleagues, military psychologists, are the first to work with people who serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

We held a seminar on “MENTAL TRAUMA. PTSD” was held in partnership with Sigmund Freud University Vienna to help Ukrainian military psychologists.

The lecturer was our colleague, SFU professor and practicing psychotherapist Max Pritz.

At the seminar, we listened and talked about trauma: its diagnosis, types of trauma, consequences, patterns and mechanisms of traumatic disorders. Also, about different areas of professional assistance and about PTSD during the war.

Attention was paid to the issue of efficiency and psychological stability of a mental health professional: how to stay in the resource and resist emotional burnout.

Our lecturer, Max Pritz, shared his own experience of the main diagnostic tools and psychotechnologies for working with trauma, and drew the attention of psychologists to the peculiarities of different approaches to psychotherapy to work with trauma.

The seminar ended with an exchange of impressions about the event and the approach to knowledge transfer, as well as communication between experts in the field of psychology and psychotherapy.
All participants received certificates of advanced training on the topic from Ukraine Sigmund Freud University.
