Accreditation of an educational program involves the evaluation of the quality of the program and the educational activities of an institution to ensure compliance with the education standard, the institution’s ability to meet these standards, and the achievement of the learning outcomes stated in the program according to the criteria for evaluating the quality of the educational program.

Accreditation is generally conducted for the first time during the final year of study for the initial cohort of students enrolled in the educational program (Regulations on the Accreditation of Educational Programs for Higher Education Preparation, approved by the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, July 11, 2019, No. 977).

Within licensed specialties at a specific level of higher education, the university develops educational programs in accordance with the higher education standard. At the same level and within the same specialty, two or more educational programs may be accredited simultaneously. The number and titles of these programs are determined independently by the university. Educational programs within a given specialty may include different professional qualifications based on the specialization and the learning outcomes (competencies) that students of the respective program are expected to achieve.

Accreditation certificates are issued by the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education. In Ukraine, the accreditation of educational programs can also be validated by a certificate issued by a recognized independent or foreign accreditation agency specializing in quality assurance in higher education.

For the first accreditation, the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education issues certificates valid for five years. Subsequent accreditations are granted for a period of 10 years.

Under accredited educational programs, the university is authorized to issue diplomas of the established format.
