Women's contribution to the revival of Ukraine
The lecture is designed for everyone interested in the history of Ukraine.
During the lecture, you will learn:
- The stories of Ukrainian women who voluntarily joined the ranks of the Legion of Ukrainian Sich Riflemen, the Army of the Ukrainian People's Republic (UPR), the Galician Army, and the insurgent units during the national liberation struggle of 1917–1923.
- About the lives of public and cultural figures who made a significant contribution to our fight for independence. Their stories are captivating and require psychological analysis in the context of current events.
- We will analyze and draw parallels between the women leaders of the early 20th century and modern Ukrainian women, who are direct inheritors of the traditions of the women's movement of that time.
We will listen and talk about:
– About women in the struggle for Ukraine in the first half of the 20th century.
– Their courage on the battlefields and their belief in the dream of Ukrainian statehood.
– About the cultural phenomenon and intellectual contribution to the national heritage.

The lecture is conducted by a PhD in History, head and associate professor of the Department of General Education at Ukraine Sigmund Freud University: Tetiana Shvydchenko.
