«From psychoanalytic listening to interpretation. Linguistic aspects of psychoanalytic interventions»

Ukraine Sigmund Freud University invites practicing psychologists, psychology students, and psychoanalytically oriented professionals to a practical workshop on psychoanalytic listening. This workshop will focus on fundamental linguistic concepts that deepen and structure the understanding of psychoanalytic interventions, making the transition from psychoanalytic listening to the formulation of interpretations more transparent and comprehensible.

The workshop author will use simple linguistic concepts to address the question: what kind of interventions should a psychoanalytic therapist make for the «talking cure» (as Sigmund Freud once called it) to take place? Throughout the workshop, participants will learn how attentive listening and consideration of the patient’s speech contribute to psychoanalytic diagnostics and the application of psychoanalytic techniques—from clarification to interpretation.

Each of the four parts of the workshop will include a lecture segment, an analysis of clinical cases, and a Q&A session for participants.
